Costus oil is an oil extracted from the roots of the Costus plant, which belongs to the Asteraceae family. This family contains more than 300 species of plants, and there are 61 species of them in India. The Indian Costus plant grows in high mountainous areas. Its origin goes back to the Himalayas in India and then it spread to the Arab world and then to Europe and China.
